Western Mongolia, Foxhunting and Eagle Festival
SEPTEMBER 17 - OCTOBER 2, 2024 (two spots left)
Hunting with female golden eagles is a traditional form of falconry practiced by Kazakh Eagle Hunters of Western Mongolia in the province of Bayan-Ölgii, Mongolia. Their falconry custom involves hunting with golden eagles on horseback, and they primarily hunt red and corsac foxes, as well as hares, marmots, and even the occasional wolf. Every fall, Kazakh eagle hunting customs are displayed at the Eagle Festival.
